The Foundation’s goal is to create a freer and more prosperous life through the exploration and development of advanced technology, science, and enterprise in space. The Foundation strives to make accessible vast new resources in space while both supporting human settlements beyond our planet and using this research and resources to protect Earth’s fragile ecosystems. OUR LEGACY Founded in 1988, the SFF has nearly 35 years advocating for commercial involvement in the space industry for the betterment of all humankind. Through conferences, speakers, policy papers, awards and prizes, and nationally recognized projects, the Space Frontier Foundation is actively advancing the cause of ‘NewSpace’ – the term which has come to represent space infused with the spirit of entrepreneurialism. OUR FUTURE As we are on a new precipice of space exploration, opened to all humankind through the power of free enterprise. The SFF is fundamentally transforming the intention of space into a widely accessible frontier. The Foundation begins to explore utilizing space travel,research, and science as a means of solving some of the greatest problems of our time – climate change and global warming, inequity and lack of access particularly in space sciences, and disparity and depletion of resources across the globe.
